Ergonomic Chairs What is the Appeal?
Yesterday I got a question from one of our subscribers "what makes the ergonomic chair such a great buy over your traditional office chair?"
I decided to dedicate today's article discussing some of the features that makes Ergonomic Chairs superior to your every day office chair that you could buy at Wal-Mart for ten bucks.
1) Adjustable Backrest - In your traditional office chair you can only adjust the height of the chair. I know for a fact since I used one for eleven painful years (my chiropractor can attest to this if you don't believe me) always wondering why I was in such agony. In an ergonomic chair you can adjust the backrest to mold to the contour of your back, this not only makes for a much more comfortable seating arrangement, it is one hundred times better for your spine and overall posture.
2) Adjustable Tension for the Seat - This one is pretty self explanatory but for those of you who need me to spell it out, I will. Most ergonomic chairs, for example the Mirra Chair by herman miller, have the ability to adjust the seat tension. What this means in laymens terms is you can adjust the hardness of the bottom of your chair to make you feel like you are sitting on a feathery pillow made of cotton and silk. I honestly wouldn't suggest that you make your seat that soft because if you create too soft of a sitting area you may never wish to get up again.
3) Arm Height Flexibility - Again, in your everyday run of the mill office chair, this is usually not able to be adjusted. Youre stuck with your arms at a certain height and usually this causes a serious strain on your wriests when you type for a prolonged period of time. The cure to this problem is having the ablity to adjust your arm height. With my ergonomical chair I can place my arms at a ninety degree angle from my keyboard. This combined with a wrist rest creates the ideal environment in which you should type.
4) Adjustable Arm Angles - Another really eclectic but super functional feature of ergonomic chairs is the ablity of some to ajust the pivotal motion that the arm rests lie at. What this enables is for your arm to dangle at a coformtable and effective postion when you are typing. To the ordinary joe this may not seem like a huge deal, but to coders and other folks that type anywhere from one hundred to two hundred thousand words per day, it is all the difference in the world.

Help me choose a mouse and keyboard?
I currently have the regular 2 button corded mouse and a keyboard that came with my Dell.
The mouse is not ergonomic at all, it squeeks, and it's not the smoothest mouse in the world.
The keyboard has soft keys and not a whole lot of feedback.
Can you help me choose the best corded mouse out there and do you know of any keyboard where the keys have better feedback.
Definitely a laser mouse would be the best since there are no squeaking possible...
Logitech's mouse/keyboard packages have great feedback and are pretty solid as far as I know or experienced.
The Dell keyboard/mouse are cheap stuff that come default with Dells and are really not something you want to use if you're in front of the computer a lot.
