Superior Quantum SDLT II Tape Technology

DLT was the first tape format in which dual coated media was introduced. Quantum has used metal particle media in the production of DLT tape cartridges. Metal particle is the basis of DLT tape storage format. For the production of SDLT tape cartridges, AMP (advanced metal particle) media was employed by Quantum. Quantum SDLT II tape cartridges offer higher coactivity and improved data protection features than the conventional metal particle tape cartridges.

In eMP60 technology, dual layer coating is used. eMP60 technology is also very useful in supporting high density recordings and assures durable head passes of 1 million. Metal particles of Quantum SDLT-2 tape media are uniform in size & shape. This uniformity of metal particles' size and shape assures superior data integrity in high density recordings.
