Famous Goalkeepers
Gordon Banks
Thought by many to be the paramount goalkeeper of all time, Gordon Banks will forever be recalled for his save from Pele's header in the course of the 1970 World Cup Finals. Yet those who saw Banks play knew he was capable of echoing such a performance on a cold December afternoon when all that was at peril was two points. He wasn't just great - he was routinely on top of his game and a Banks' howler was very infrequent indeed.
Peter Shilton
One of the great, driven players, Peter Shilton set out to turn into the best goalkeeper of all time. Myth has it that on being told he might not make the grade because he wasn't lanky enough, Shilton went home and began a training system that involved spending hours at a time dangling from the stairs in experiment to add centimetres to his frame. He wanted it that greatly.
Peter Schmeichel
This Danish master goal keeper was very famous for his acrobatic mobility in the field. He is the most capped player for Denmark with his 129 international matches. He spent his successful time of his club career with famous English premier League club Manchester United where he played 292 matches. He won the 1992 European Championship with his nation Denmark. He became the 'World's Best Goal keeper' for two times. He also led his homeland for 30 matches as skipper. He won the European Cup with man utd. He is a member of the English Football Hall of Fame.
Sepp Maier
Maier is another rare fighter under the goal bar. This great player of West Germany was very functioning in the field and his supple activity made him an instant titan for the opposition strikers and wingers. In 1974 he helped Germany to win the world cup on their soil. In the tournament he would accomplish four matches with clean sheet out of seven matches. He played for Bayern Munich for his complete career where he played consecutive 422 matches which is still an achievement for German football league. He gained four West German leagues and three european cups with Bayern Munich. Later after his retirement form football he has been a goalie coach for Germany national squad.
Lev Yashin
Famed for eternally wearing a characteristic all-black strip when playing, Yashin is one of the small number of goalkeepers who could absolutely challenge Gordon Banks for the salutation of greatest goal keeper of all-time.
Pat Jennings
If ever there was a goal keeper that could be expressed as atypical of the breed, it was Pat Jennings. Unusual, unflappable, respectable and gracious, Jennings governed his penalty area with an air of casualness and peace that would humiliate Peter Schmeichel into retirement. Yet in spite of never getting any formal kind of coaching - or even because of it - he become one of the greatest goal keepers the game has ever seen.
Dino Zoff
Dino Zoff is an Italian legendary football goal keeper and the oldest ever victor of the World Cup as a captain of the Italian national squad in Spain in the 1982 World Cup. Zoff spent most of his career at Juventus. He holds the record for the longest stretch (1142 minutes) without allowing any goals.

how to become a good goal keeper(goalie)????????
hello i was wondering is there any body that can help me become a better goalie a website that tells me any thing please?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????i need help
I am a goalkeeper my self, and there is nothing u will find in books or websites, yer the books/websites might give u information but not the skill, u have to go out there and train.
Suggestion: Go out and have a kick with ur mates, let them take shots at u, if u can't kick very far, work on that, if some one is running at u to score, come out for the ball, unless ur defender has it under control, if u dont have good hand-eye coordination, throw a football/soccerball high up in the air try and catch it or tap it away.
Remember it's all training
