Titleist Golf Gloves

Why do baseball players wear gloves but cricketers don't?
Why do baseball players wear gloves but cricketers don't? I watch baseball a lot, I am a yankees fan but i watch and play cricket even more and i have always wondered why because its not hard to catch even the hardest of catches without a glove, all it means is there is a bigger surface but if you have any hand-eye co-ordination you can get your hands in the right place.
I think it comes down to "because they can". If the rules of cricket changed to allow gloves, my guess is that cricketers would start to wear gloves, too.
While you can make all the plays barehanded, you will be more error prone in doing so. So if the rules allow it, of course you would wear a glove.
