Johannesburg World Cup 2010 Stadiums
Johannesburg will have two stadiums in the World Cup 2010 and also boasts the opening match, one semi final and the final match of the tournament.
Soccer City is the jewel in South Africa's crown, built in 1987 and with a capacity of 94,700 (excluding Media and VIP's) it is sure to offer a great atmosphere for the lucky few that get tickets and hopefully as the stadium to be used for the first game, provide an excellent springboard for a magnificent tournament.
For 2010, the upper tier will be extended around the stadium, an encircling roof will be constructed, new changing room facilities will be developed and new floodlights will be installed.

About the Author
Why aren't there any teams from Oceania in the FIFA World Cup Soccer Tournament?
It would be great if there were teams from ALL parts of the world in the tournament, so why can't there be any from the Pacific Island nations, like The Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, etc? I know they play soccer there, and that they love it.
ALL parts of the world are indeed represented. Qualification is done continentally.
Oceania were granted 0.5 spot in this year's FIFA World Cup. (Meaning the top Oceania team would have a chance to qualify, but wouldn't qualify directly. Asia were granted 4.5 spots in this year's World Cup, so the top Oceania team would play-off against the fifth Asia team.)
Eleven countries competed in the 2008 OFC Nation Cup, though only ten were attempting qualification for the World Cup: Fiji, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Samoa, Tonga, American Samoa, and New Zealand. Tuvalu also played but are not official FIFA members and therefore ineligible to qualify. Papua New Guinea registered, but withdrew.
New Zealand won the 2008 OFC Nations Cup and earned a play-off with Bahrain.
The play-off consisted of two matches. One in Bahrain and one in New Zealand. The team with the best aggregate (combined) score in those two matches would advance to the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
On October 10, 2009, New Zealand and Bahrain played to a goalless draw in Riffa.
On November 14, 2009, New Zealand beat Bahrain 1-0 in Wellington. Rory Fallon scored.
New Zealand won the playoff 1-0 on aggregate and advanced.
Alex- Australia are no longer part of the Oceania zone. They jumped ship and moved to the Asian Football Confederation.
